This Refund & Return Policy explains when and how you can request a refund for a paid subscription to a Stanmash Ltd Service. It applies together with our Terms of Service. Stanmash Ltd is a private company limited by shares registered in England and Wales, with its registered office at Stoney Works, 8 Stoney Lane, London SE1 9BD, United Kingdom.
1. What Stanmash sells
Stanmash sells digital software subscriptions only. We do not sell physical goods and we do not ship anything, so there is no traditional “return” process. This policy describes refunds for the digital subscriptions we do sell.
2. Statutory right of withdrawal (UK & EU consumers)
If you are a consumer resident in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you normally have a 14-day right to cancel a distance contract under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (UK) or the corresponding EU rules.
This right is limited for digital content and streamed software. Where a Service is delivered as digital content that starts to be supplied immediately after purchase, you agree at checkout that supply begins during the 14-day cancellation period, and you acknowledge that this causes you to lose the statutory right to cancel once supply has begun. If you do not agree, do not tick the acknowledgement and do not use the Service; contact us and we will refund your payment.
For Services delivered as a recurring subscription, you can cancel your subscription at any time to stop future charges (see section 4 below).
3. Trials and evaluation
Where a Service offers a free trial or freemium tier, you may use it without payment for the trial period. If we ask for payment details up front, we will remind you by email before the trial converts to a paid subscription, and you can cancel from your account or by email at any time before the conversion date at no charge.
4. Cancelling a subscription
You may cancel a paid subscription at any time from your account settings or by writing to hello@stanmash.dev. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle; you keep access to the Service until then, and you will not be charged again for that Service.
We do not issue partial refunds for the unused portion of an active billing cycle, except where required by consumer law or where an event described in section 5 applies.
5. When we do issue a refund
We will issue a refund in the following circumstances:
- Duplicate charge. If you were charged twice for the same billing cycle, we will refund the duplicate charge in full.
- Charge you did not authorise. If a subscription was charged to your account because someone signed up without your authorisation, tell us as soon as you notice; we will cancel the subscription and refund charges taken during the previous 30 days.
- Material failure of the Service. If the Service is unavailable, materially broken, or does not do what its product page says it does, and we cannot fix the issue within a reasonable time, we will refund the unused portion of your current billing cycle.
- Termination by us without cause. If we terminate your access to a Service without cause, we will refund any prepaid amount covering the period after termination.
- Statutory rights. Any refund right that applies under UK or EU consumer law and cannot be excluded by contract.
6. How to request a refund
Send an email to hello@stanmash.dev from the address associated with your account. Please include:
- the name of the Service and the plan you subscribed to;
- the approximate date of the charge you would like refunded;
- a short description of the reason for the refund.
We will acknowledge your request within 3 UK business days and, if approved, process the refund within 14 calendar days from the date of approval. Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Where that is not possible, we will agree an alternative in writing.
7. Chargebacks
If you dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer without contacting us first, we may pause your account until the dispute is resolved. Please try email first — almost every issue can be resolved faster this way.
8. Non-refundable items
Any one-off setup, migration, or professional-services fee paid separately from a recurring subscription is non-refundable once we have started work, unless we fail to deliver the work described.
9. Governing law
This Refund & Return Policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights that apply in your country of residence.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make a material change we will update the “Effective date” at the top of this page and, where you have an active subscription, notify you by email.
